Dining Out for Life Adds Gourmet Food Truck Round-Up,

14 New Restaurants for 23rd Annual Event on April 25
Dining Out for Life raises more than $250,000 annually for local AIDS service organizations. Book
your reservations now for Thursday, April 25
PHILADELPHIA (April 10, 2013) – More than 150 restaurants across the Delaware Valley, including 14 newcomers, have
generously signed on to take part in the 23rd Annual Dining Out for Life on Thursday, April 25 in an effort to fight
HIV/AIDS. And new for 2013: a lunchtime pop-up with a nine food trucks at 12th and Passyunk in South Philly from 11am
until 3pm.
Dining Out for Life is thrilled to add the fun and trendy Gourmet Food Truck scene to this year’s event with a Food Truck
Round-Up. The afternoon will feature nine of Philadelphia’s hottest food trucks – a combination of sweet and savory –
showcasing their culinary talents, along with special prizes for Food Truck Round-Up participants during our first-ever
lunchtime event.
Participating trucks include: Vernalicious, The Cow and the Curd, Spot Burgers, Delicias, Gigi’s & Big R, The Farm Truck,
Cupcake Carnivale, Mac Mart and The Sunflower Truck.
“We are really excited about the addition of the Gourmet Food Truck Round-Up in 2013,” said ActionAIDS Executive
Director Kevin Burns. “Having all of those great trucks, all in the same place, all making a difference in the lives of our
clients, is inspiring! Not to mention, really fun and delicious.”
Dining Out for Life has a simple, yet powerful mission: Dine Out. Fight AIDS. Participating restaurants each donate 33-
percent of the day’s food sales, which is then invested through local AIDS organizations to fund care, prevention,
education, testing, counseling and other essential HIV/AIDS services.

Last year, participating restaurants across the Delaware Valley raised more than a quarter of a million dollars. Locally,
nearly 20,000 people are living with HIV/AIDS, and the rate of new infections is about four times the national average. At
the same time, government HIV/AIDS prevention funding has been drastically cut. Your support for this event will enable
us to deliver life changing services, including “treatment as prevention” – a proven approach to creating the first AIDSfree generation.
All funds raised through Dining Out for Life benefits HIV/AIDS services at the following: ActionAIDS, AIDS Delaware,
Family and Community Service of Delaware County, and Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pennsylvania (PPSEPA).

ABOUT ACTIONAIDS
In 1986, a group of 84 committed volunteers came together to form a community of care to provide services to 100

to dedicated volunteers, talented staff, generous donors, and ongoing support from city, state and Federal agencies,
ActionAIDS has grown to become Pennsylvania’s largest AIDS service organization. We currently serve more than 5,000
clients a year through the efforts of over 350 dedicated volunteers and 91 professional staff. We are privileged to be

invited into the lives of thousands of men, women and children who are faced with the challenges of living with HIV
